  NAFA Announces 2009 National Championships for Elite Level "A" Teams. The Elite level is considered the "Gold" level for 18-Under teams and it is considered the top of the "A" level in age divisions below the 18U level. These "Elite" level events are held in the Midwest where everyone from across the nation can meet in the middle of the Nation and decide the top team in each age class.

10/15/2008 NAFA takes the lead in softball once again by holding our first 16A-43 Foot National National Championship  with the 18-Elite 43 Foot National to give kids the exposure to the same College Coaches that will be viewing the 18U's  We expect over 100 College Coaches to attend.

10/14/2008 NAFA announces the appointment of Dennis Fong as Interim NorCal NAFA Director.

10/13/2008 NAFA Upper Midwest Regional Director announces the appointment of Bob Tomlinson as the Wisconsin NAFA State Director for Girls Fastpitch. He is a longtime high school fp guru and was the orignial operator of the FP Chronicle that was distributed around the FP World in the 70's-80's. Rick has been very visible in Arizona in the Phoenix area in LL and travel ball and is very enthusiastic about developing NAFA in Arizona.

7/13/2008   METAL CLEATS ILLEGAL IN NAFA GIRLS PLAY
This Directive is official today for NAFA Youth play. Effective Immediately for all NAFA Youth play including National Tournaments the following emergency ruling will be in effect regarding a player found wearing metal cleats which are illegal: "In the event that a player or players are found to be in violation of the "no metal cleat rule", the umpire shall eject "BOTH" the 3rd base coach and the player(s) found to be wearing the illegal metal cleats for the remainder of that game. Once the first pitch is thrown this penalty will become effective for each game. This rule was affirmed at the national meeting in Kansas City.

May 29th, 2008 NAFA "ELITE" 18-Under National reaches 102 team commitments for Sulphur, Louisiana National.

May 28th, 2008 Bob Regpala is appointed as Interim Regional Director of Region 2 which includes Northern California, Southern California, Hawaii, and Nevada.

March 20th, 2008, 2009 National Championship sites and dates were placed including an exciting new "Elite" Division for each age group. More details to follow in September.

March 15th, 2008, The NAFA Girls and Women's Fastpitch bylaws were approved by a 7-0 vote of the NAFA Executive Committee.

Dec 27th, 2007, the 2008 NAFA Rulebook Document was posted online. Please review it as the Playing Rules Committee is reviewing it also for potential changes for 2008. Submit your rule change requests to President Jack Spahr at Jack@nafa-region4.com by January 1st, 2008. The Playing Rules Committee will vote on them on January 10th and the hard copy rule book will go to press on January 15th. Each team and umpire will receive a rulebook. Thanks for assisting us in making this rulebook our best ever.
